and the two shall become one flesh...

Saints of the Old Testament give us very important clues in regard to worship 'as unto the Lord'. They carried out to the very detail, coupled with the highest degree of reverence for God when they offered worship to Him. Those of the first covenant did not focus on impressing the on lookers. They were consumed with carrying out what pleased God to the minute detail. Now that we are those of the New covenant, our worship to God will include the severity and dedication of the old. But just as our covenant with Him is far more superior than the old covenant, we have the exciting privilege of the inclusion of our hearts which is far beyond where they were able to go. One thing that many of the Old Testament had was the blessed grace to experience when God was pleased with their offering of worship. Fire came down in a visible way from heaven. What a sight that must have been. Oh what a blessing we have in the New covenant. When God is pleased with our worship there is an internal fire of the 'Holy' signifying that our love for the Lord is real. If those who would worship God is concerned with an appearance of form and fashion then there will be no fire. The more and deeper you go in your love for the Lord the more the fire in your heart will burn. To be a true worshiper unto the Lord God, our hearts must be completely involved. So we must conclude, true worship is an expression of love. It's a matter of the heart.

The purpose of this book is not to glorify the brutality of the past, but to face truth and learn how trusting in Christ Jesus brought a people through the harshest of life's circumstances. Trusting in Him today can do the same. Ignoring truth has consequences that can prove to be just another form of slavery. Jesus our Savior said, 'you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.' He did not say if the conditions of truth are agreeable and pleasant that you will be free, because it will not always be so. When a people understand the commonality of suffering, especially black people, the likelihood that empathy for one another will also be a common way of life. All citizens of this nation should be enlightened through our systems of education, that the United States enslaved it's own citizens. The United States, though a young nation, was the last major civilization that reluctantly freed it's slaves. Truth must be in order, for healing of the entire nation to be realized. If one segment of this nation is not free, no segment is free. If one segment of a nation is in need of healing, the whole nation is ill, and in need of the same. The healing of America and overcoming racism as a people with diverse origins, will come through true forgiveness. Only then can it as a nation share in a common God given destiny, for His glory.

Salvation is simple but it's cost is priceless. The word of God says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you shall be saved. This word is an expression of how profound the love of God is for mankind. He made all of the provisions necessary in order to rescue man from his dilemma of eternal hopelessness. Almighty God did all of the work, and all we have to do to benefit from what only God the Creator could do is to believe. The plan of salvation is so easy that the masses, sad to say, are going to miss it. Man without God is ever trying to prove that he can do life independent of God. This is a never ending vain pursuit that will find itself destitute of time. With the fall from God comes a void that is impossible for man to fill. The best and only way is to trust Jesus Christ and He will fill every void in you with the greatest thing in all of existence, Himself. Wow what a deal!

All of creation knows the Creator, but man is the only one that God has said, 'Seek Me.' Someone said you can't seek God until you have been sought by Him.' When you lose or misplace something of immense value, you do everything you can to find it. You will look in places you haven't been, just to free your mind of not giving a complete search for that which is lost. You look for that with focus of sight and focus of mind. He who is not lost says 'seek Him while He may be found' and that which we search for God with is not as we would for any other, we search and seek for Him with the heart. Seeking God with the whole heart will keep us from being lost.
